If that's your aim would not the use of the ~ be indicated as seen in my
changed subject line?

~ ascii decimal code is 126, A's code is 65, which should put it
at the bottom.

Smart newsreaders use that standard to automagically strip
the signature so the person replying does not have to trim
it by hand.
