Fine. To solve this problem, say exactly, precisely what you want, using
common English words.
Do you want to automaticallty download Web content for later viewing? Use
wget.
# man wget

Hi,
Do a search for httrack at google there is also front ends available like
khttrack and a few others.
httrack copies web sites for offline viewing, I am assuming this is what you
are looking for.

Not exactly sure what you mean, but wwwoffle might possibly be what you're
looking for?

I had similar problems when I was looking for information about devices to
help me remove wallpaper / paint from my walls. The English language can be
a cruel mistress. hmm, I wonder what you get if you search for 'cruel
mistress'?

|
| What I mean by web stripper is software to download the whole
of a web site so you can look at it off line.
As for the 'mistress' you'll be told its something between a
mister and a matress!!!

Opps! I think Opera will just do it page at a time, not a whole site, but
I /could/ be wrong.

No you're not... One can only save page with images one by one...
What about what Anthony Irwin suggested to you (khttrack) ?
Did you try it ?

Ah. Haven't tried this, but it says it's Java and runs in Linux:
http://membres.lycos.fr/papysoft/WEBsaver/fonc_uk.html
Alternatively you could try something like
wget -r -k -p --level=[number of levels to recurse] [url].
This is a bit of a guess based on a glance at wget --help, you might have
to play with it to get it to do exactly what you want.
btw, Kmail downloads my emails for offline reading. Does that make it a
Mail Stripper?

| Thanks to everybody, I haven't had time to try any yet, but will
download and look into the suggestions.
