Author How come I don't have the "Kernel Configuration" in CCenter on the Laptop ?

I installed Mandrake 9.0 on my Dell Latitude CPx 500H and it went flawlessly
just like it did on the desktop. I've installed many of the kernel and
development packages.

Why do I have the "Kernel Configuration" option in Control Center on the
desktop and _not_ on the laptop ?

I've I missed something ?

Thanks.

This is very much off the wall, but I have seen KDE menus transiently show
or not show some items on systems that were resource-challenged.

Why not tell us something about the laptop? How much RAM and hard drive
space?

PIII 500MHz
256Mb RAM
12 Gb Hard Drive

Another strange thing is that the Kernel Configuration option is not even
mentionned on the Control Center help page...

Yes I did.
The first time that I installed on the desktop I had not installed it but the
option still showed but was disabled. On the laptop it doesn't show at
all...
