Author new to nfs and need help
John

I am using SuSE 7.2 and have been experimenting with nfs. I have
a problem where I execute rcnfsserver (just a startup script for
nfsd) and get:

"Starting kernel based NFS serverfreakshow.mshome.net:/new: Invalid
argument"

And, consequently, I am unable to connect to the share. I have been
successful with serving other directories (e.g. /home) and I can't
see the difference here other than /new is mounted to /dev/hdb3.
But so what?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend upgrading the kernel, 2.4.4 comes with SuSE 7.2,
which doesn't allow nfs exporting of vfat FS.

Thanks. That's what I just figured out this morning. I guess I had
to sleep on it. And now for some kernel compiling...

In addition, you could try the user space nfsd, dunno if it can
export vfat via NFS.
