ldap listening on 389 -- but where is the daemon?

| Hello!
I have mandrake 8.1.
While scanning the public ip, ldap is listening on port 389.
I don't need this service, I want to unload the service... but what's the
daemon offering this services?

Whichever ldap daemon you are running! Use lsof or fuser on the
port in order to check.
It's probably slapd.
