Hello I am new to Linux and am having trouble with connecting to my Router
and network .I am using a Soyo Dragon with a SIS 900 ethernet adapter on
board.Setup has found the ethernet card and configured it but I am unable to
connect to the net or communicate to the router which is a SMC 7004ABR
Barricade w/4 port switch. I have succesfully installed printer
,scanner, sound and video card but I can't figure it out. Any help would be
appreciated.

Chuck, this may be a shot completely out of the dark, but I recently had a
similar problem (properly configured ethernet card would not talk to
anything at all). The fix was to follow the instuctions in the following
knowledgebase entry:

Title: The System Hangs When the Sound Card Is Activated
http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/thal...ring_snd80.html

It seems that SuSE 8.0 Pro can mistakenly think your system is SMP, and this
leads to various problems.
