Author kde 3 not on root profile

I am always working in my user profile with kde 3 that I installed
recently. When I logged in as "root" to set up X-CD-Roast,
I discovered that KDE 2 is the default desktop for "root".
How can I fix this ?

Edit /root/.xinitrc, this file should have a single line like:

startkde
