| I noticed that when I login to my linux, my default desktop environment is
GNOME, how can I change to KDE??
Most of ppl prefer which one? or which one is easier to use??
Thank you in advance.

Depends on your distro and the method you use to log in.

KDE seems to have the larger following, I don't use either.

Keep it in the newsgroup unless you plan to completely change
the subject, I almost never respond to emails if the newsgroup
would have been a more apropriate place to post the message.

Usually you can choose which desktop to use when you log in (if you
have both installed). If not, try the "switchdesk" command.

Why didn't you just select KDE from the drop-down in the login dialog?

Would it not have been a better idea to have edited your "prefdm" file.
Anyway, kdm should ask you which desktop env, you require.

How do you login? If you use gdm or kdm, there is a drop down box to
select which window manager you use. For KDM it's right below the
password box, in GDM it's a bit more hidden...
>Most of ppl prefer which one? or which one is easier to use??
Most people prefer kde or gnome or windowmaker or blackbox or ... you
get the idea.
Just try the different ones for a few days, and then decide which you
prefer.
Personally I use KDE3 most of the time, window maker or fluxbox when I
need something lighter.
