Well, let's see. You posted to a Linux NG. Also, I see from your message
header that you have a Linux distribution running on your computer, and it
appears you are using Mozilla as a newsreader.

You know, you may already have a copy of KNode on your system. To find out
if you do, type this in a shell:

# whereis knode

If nothing comes up, tell us what Linux distribution you are using.

HI Paul

I just configure KNode it's nice. I have little truble with fonts but look
pretty good and easy. I'm using Mandrake 8.2. Kinda new in Linux World.

You ought to not cheat yourself out of at least trying pan as well.
If you installed Gnome, that is.

Hi Dmz.

I like one thing about Pan it's good for massive
downloading e-book and mp3s b/c it has Empty/Delete options and no
other Newsgroups come with this option which I truly need due to Multimedia
NGS. I can keep my HD very cleaning. How ever I can't understand how to
tell Pan don't download more that 500 headers. Nonthless I'll use KNode for
answering/replying/reading and Pan for Multimedia Newsgroups Downloading
books, mp3s and iso files Did you now they support Yenc too..

Get it: if you use debian, just install 'apt-get install knode'. Otherwise
download it from www.kde.org

Good? Yes. Especially for groups like these. For massive downloading of
large chunked files, Pan is better.

Speaking as someone who doesn't yet realize top-posting is a "bad thing?"

KNode is much better than Outlook, starting with its ability to avoid the
above. You haven't yet explored this feature, I see.

Actually, on second thought, it occurs to me that you may have reversed its
preferences WRT top-posting, because it defaults to the Usenet standard
(reply below original).

Yes, but now that you have KNOde, you need to adopt the Usenet posting norm
-- reply below original (like this). Outlook didn't allow this, but KNode
does. It is the preferred style among seasoned posters.

It actually reminds me more of the old MS Internet News that came with IE
3.0.

I've never been told that it's a bad thing but now I'll be carefull :-)
Once again sorry for long reply. Today my baby ( little girl ) was sleeping
so I decided to look at old posting of mine. I normally don't replay all of
mine posting (hopefully it's not consider rude). I do read most of replys
ofcourse.
