Thinking About CNE

| Hello group, my name is Dustin, and I am currently working towards the
MCSE. I have 2 exams left, and I am thinking what some of my long
term certification goals should be. I am planning on following the
track for CCIE, in the long run, and I am going to sit the CCNA in
November. I do not have much experience with Novell. I worked on 2
projects a couple of years back where we migrated 3.11 networks to NT
4.0, and there was a lot of maintanence during the course of things.
I have not been exposed to NDS, nor ZENworks, but they do interest me.
I got the bug when I looked at Novell's site stating one can forego
the Networking Technologies exam if one has the Network+ or MCSE.
I have a few questions:
1) Should I go for the Netware 5.1, or wait for the 6.0?
- I was thinking that going for 5.1 would be fine, as most people are
probably running 5.x now, and will be for a while, and I could always
do the upgrade tests.
2) If I follow the 5.1 route, where can I get demo software, and what
are the hardware requirements?
- I have the 6.0 demo and it seemed a bit funky.
3) What are some good Self-Study books to use?
4) What are good, marketable, and worthwhile electives?
- From the small amount I have read, I am very interested in ZENworks,
as it seems to do many of the things Intellimirror does for SMS and
Windows 2000 active Directory.
Thanks,
Dustin
