www.panicware.com will stop you from even seeing such jokes... blocks all
ads and popups on all sites.

Free download. I use it all the time on my system.

Does it work better than PopUp Killer? I've been using that but it doesn't
always work, and occasionally it totally shuts down IE, instead of just
killing the Pop-up.

I figured that's what it was going to be, but of course I had to try it
first so I could XXXXX about it.

I am not sure if it is the same program... This one is called Pop-Up
Stopper. I have yet to have a problem with it. It was given to me by
another poster in another ng. The only problem I detect with this one is if
you click on a link within a site (and that site is set to open a new
window), you will not get that new window. The way to fix this is to
disable the popup stopper momentarily, open the new window, then re-enable
the stopper.

if you don't have to use IE, try Opera. It doesn't accept pop-ups at
all

Hmmm... I've been meaning to try that one. I'll check it out.
