Passed I-Net+ IK0-002 on Friday!

| Hi everyone
I passed the I-Net+ exam on Friday 2nd August with a score of 867/900.
I took an hour an 20 minutes to do the exam - I would say the toughest
thing is that many of the questions have 2, sometimes 3 answers which
are technically correct, you have to choose the BEST answer. That was
tricky!
After I finished answering all the questions I went through them 1 by
1 and figured that I had about 60 questions right, so I ended the
exam. I was pleasantly surprised by my score in the end.
I would definetely recommend reading more than 1 book. I used the
Sybex I-Net+ book by David Groth / Dorothy McGee (2002 edition),
I-Net+ Exam Cram (for IK0-001) and I also read some of Sams TCP/IP in
24 hours.
There are some mistakes in both of the I-Net+ books, but they are
generally pretty good. The exam cram book explains some things better
than the Sybex book (under what circumstances to use different
multimedia formats, working out hosts per subnet etc) but overall the
Sybex book goes into more detail - and the practice exams are pretty
good on the CD, even if they do occassionally give strange answers!
The TCP/IP book helped to explain some concepts better than either of
these 2 books - espcially about IP addressing and security concepts.
Beware of free practice exams you find on the net - many of them give
you misleading information!
A good (but short!) practice exam can be found at
http://www.mcmcse.com/testing/index.php - there is also a CIW exam
here which is worth taking as some of the information is similar.
I'm interested in taking the CIW exam now - I know you can get it
automatically if you have an I-Net+, but I want to take the exam. Has
anyone else gone on to study for this? Is it much different to I-Net+?
Cheers

| I did not know that you could get the CIW automatically if you obtain the
i-Net+. How do I do that? Where can I get information about that at?
Sincerely,
Dwayne Kilbourne
