Any idea when they are going to swich to the new test?

They haven't announced a "drop dead" date for the current exam.

If the past is any indicator, expect the new exam to be introduced and
the current exam to continue for several months (an overlap).

Then the old exam will be retired.

My feeling (from reading the comptia web site is that the new objectives
won't become effective until late spring/early summer of 2005. This will
allow authors to get manuscripts together and educational institutions
time to order new books for the summer/fall of 2005.

I'm also waiting for more details on the Server+ update that is also in
beta right now.
