| Looking for some advise on what to expect on the exam. I have the Learnkey
Net+ CDROM videos and the Mike Meyers passport book. Wanted to know what
type of questions to expect. I know that there will be a broad range of
questions but I would think that there will be many scenerio type questions.
Was there any ???? on ISDN?
Thanks

| The scenario questions are killers in the Mike Meyers books but I don't know if I saw even maybe one or two on the actual exam. One of the pitfals of the Mike Meyers books are the unrealistic practice questions. Know you port numbers, OSI model etc. Just have some knowledge of each of the exam objectives. As far as ISDN, know that it is a dial-up service, know the PRI and BRI B and D channel speeds, and know when it would be an appropriate connection to implement and its distance limitations. | |

Apologies for butting in on the thread, but does anyone have any preference
between Myers "Passport Net+" book and the ExamCram2 Net+ Study Guide?
I'm sitting the test at the end of April.
Thanks

| I have no experience with the ExamCram2 Books but from what I read, people seem to find alot of errors in their material. The Mike Meyer's passport is a good supplement but I wouldn't use it as your only source of information. The Sybex Network+ Study Guide is a good book. | |

Well, the Sybex and ExamCram2 garnered the same rating from readers, though
it appears the Sybex has more buyers/users/reviews.
Thanks

I'll second that. The strategy I used successfully on my two CompTIA certs
is to use one of the full volumes such as an all-in-one or Sybex book. Then
switch to a passport about two weeks before the test for review. If you can
score well on the practice tests that come with one of Mike Meyers Passport
books, you should do fine on the actual exam. I find that his practice
questions are a bit harder than the real test.
