Hi,
How much does the current test cost to take? Also what books
are recommended for study?

I am currently really low on money and only want to buy the
essential items for passing the course. Are there any free
test practice sites that are recommended?

Thanks for any help on this.

Well, the best way to take the test is to get a voucher. You can get these
from many sites. One site is www.examvouchers.com, this is Mike Meyers company
website. In addition you can buy a bundle from the website which includes a
voucher and practice questions, i believe it costs $152.00 I hope this
helps.

Chip,

Let me suggest that you look at the Sybex Network+ book by David Groth,
while is not a very big book, it gives you all the material that is needed
to pass the exam, you can always purchase one in the used books section in
Amazon.com, or a new one below retail at www.bookpool.com and if you are
looking for free practice questions take a look at the www.examcram.com
practice exams area.

If you can afford it www.cramsession.com has also inexpensive study guides.

The test is not very difficult, but I don't know if you have previous IT and
Networking experience, this will help you to understand the subject matter a
lot better.

Last but not least please take a look at www.comptia.org Web site, download
and read the exam objectives and make sure you know them all after reading
the book.

I hope this helps you.

Good luck,

Jose

If you have access to Kazaa you can find tons of PDFs and study guides +
practice questions.
I still bought the Examcram book and the QUE book from Amazon for real cheap
( spent $70 Canadian on both)..
hope that helps..
