| Hello everyone. I'm recently A+ certified and am know starting to
pursue my Net+. Before I go out and purchase any study material I
wanted to ask your guys' opinion on whether I should go w/ the Sybex
or Mike Meyers text. I used All In One for A+ (as well as a few online
sources...) and thought it was really good reading, but alot of excess
that wasn't important for the test. I have been working in a
quasi-networking position now for a little less than 2 years, and have
worked w/ both the hard/software side of the position. I have read
that David Groth's style is pretty concise, and objective-oriented.
Have any of you used his book for primary study and then passed the
test? Oh yeah, one more question, before I go out and start studying,
does anyone know if COMPTIA is planning on changing the test any time
soon? The reason I ask is that is they do, I know all the study
material producers will start putting out new stuff, thus rendering
whatever I get obsolete (like what almost happened w/ A+ for me...).
Thanks for taking time to read my post, and any info/help you can
offer is greatly apreciated.
~Chris

| I would suggest the Sybex book by David Groth. Nothing has been mentioned by
CompTIA about changing the objectives, actually from what I have read in the
NG they did just update the exam.

| I choose the Sybex book over the Course Technologies book by Tamara Dean
that I had been using. I have not taken the Network+ test yet but the book
is much better than the one I was using on information and layout alone. I
recommend the Sybex book also.
