Author Network + Guide to Networks....???

I just got "Network + Guide to Networks Second Edition". I finished reading the chapter and reviewing the chapter questions.

I have a problem...

I can't check my answers! There is no answer key for this book or the Lab Manual... I almost fill like this purchase is worthless. How can I study and figure out if I'm on the right trac or not?

This is crazy!

If anybody can help me find a way to get the answers to this book. It would sure help out lots.

pepsolman,
Have you tried contacting the publisher or the company that provided the
software for help?

Is that by Course Technology? Tamara Dean?
If it is, you may want to do what I did: Toss it!
I used this book in a college course, and I hated it.
Boring to read. Has a lot of good info though.
It's a "school" book.

This may be why there are no answers - the teachers version has the answers.

try www.course.com and follow the Network links to it. You can see what
student downloads
are available - though I doubt they will help you.

If you are in fact going for your certification, get a better book that
wasn't necessarily
written for the classroom.

Too bad...many textbooks, even for tech college and university, have
answers for odd or even-numbered questions, so you at least have a
clue that you are getting along okay.

Yeah... I'm losing assurance when I don't get to check myself on the answers. The Lab Manual is the same way... lacking the answers... yet it has value only from lab projects and examples... which is the only reason I choose to keep it.

The majority of the students in this class do well with this book... but I have seen cases were the instructor has to give explanations and presentations in order to help out the students, which shows true weakness in the book itself.

I'm still searching for answers... hope I find them soon.

That book is actually designed as a school textbook. A teacher's manula
with the answers is available, on CD from Course Technology. I know this
because I used the book to teach out of and my boss got the Instructor
Manula sent to us.

Peppy,

I have the same book and i understand your frustration. I have scoured the WEB for answers to this stupid book, and only came up with a PDF that has the answers to the first 3 chapters. Can't remember the web page I got it from.
