Author Deadbeat Group not helpfull
Greg

2003-05-02, 2:24 pm

I have been lurking around this group for months and have noticed a
few things that i find strange:1 is the fact that 9 out of 10 new
posts want advice and help for there upcoming exam, but there is a
distinct lack of this in the replys,as most replys to help are in the
the form of online practice tests and links to other sights offering
exam software,IE:"GO here www.costlybullshittestware and take the
practise exams" etc,i have taken the exam and found that most of the
online practice tests and software that people offer is not really
worth the money and usualy contains a lot of stuff not relevant,(maybe
1 or 3 of the regulars are in kahootz with the companys)and the rest
of the advice is usualy in the form of broken English ramble,Deadbeat
at best.

greg,
I personally take offense to your rant as I am neither in cahoots with any
software maker or offering useless suggestions. The only software I have
ever suggested as being worthwhile is available FREE, that being Beach Front
Direct. Before you start spouting bullshit get your facts straight.

Hi Greg.

Did you have a specific question?
I read more than I post in this newsgroup because I am not
100% dedicated to getting a Net+ Certification. I'm in pursuit
of knowledge, not certifications.

I visit for the questions people ask. It helps me kick my brain
into gear. I try to answer the questions or at least research the
questions just so I know the answers. I share answers when I can.

Many questions are spam bait and someone connected to some
"testware" or "testsite" usually responds with the spam. Simply ignore it.

Newcomers to the Net+ may be ignorant to the fact that CompTIA's website
can answer just about any question they have in respect to the
certification.
I see nothing wrong with forwarding them to comptia.org when they ask a
question
that is already answered at that site.

Asking what study material a person thinks was best preparation for the exam
is another
thing....but it opens the door for spam. Again, simply ignore it.

Help is here...and it's _free_!
Some may say you get what you pay for.
I get a lot of good feedback from the groups I visit when I have
questions.

Greg,
Learn to read English before you start flaming people, it was actually
Netwerkz on 5/2/2003 at 9:09PM that wrote "newcomers may be ignorent to the
fact CompTIA's website can answer just about any question they have?", and
not me. However, his post is bang on the money because most people on all of
the certification newsgroups always write what do I need to study when there
first stop should be the site of the company offering a particular exam if
you can not see that then I pity you.

As for my point about Beach Front is that you get 50 practise questions for
free and what is wrong with that? Remember you get what you pay for so if
you want test questions for free you will get the full value of the
questions....NOTHING. Now at least with 50 free questions it can help you to
improve on any weak points so my point is simple better a free sample than
nothing at all.

Thanks for the clarification, Daniel.

I was going to do it but I realized where this thread was going.......
this ends my posts on this thread - it isn't going to sink in for him and I
can't tell
if it's legit answers he is looking for or just trolling...so...i give up on
this one.

Daniel,so your response to every new post to this group requiring help
is to point people to the Beach front site, although this is a very
exspensive website and not of particular quality,i am just wondering
how many people actualy buy the Beach front questions after taking
your advice?,did you buy the beach front questions?,i think not,you
probably bummed it off someone and now have them password protected on
your pc under top secret or maybe you should ask beach front for a
freebie, why not get out the cocktails! you are obviously very warm
towards them. The Beach front free demo is not really any good anyway
and it certanly is not unique, all in all you give duff advice and come
across as a know it all wannabe.I personaly have always taken any
advice posted here by the regulars with a large pinch of salt as it
has been very obvious that certain regulars (who are suddenly been
very quiet) are obviously affiliated with some company or other
offering exam questions etc as over half the advice in this group
equates to nothing except urging or hinting people to buy,a lot of
advice is misleading because certain people only want to sell there
product and do not really offer any worthwile advice and you sound
like your crawling in the shit of these people and loving it.Greg

greg,
grow up moron. I have never told anyone to buy anything nor have I ever
bought any of these products I have only used the free demos as I beleive
most of these products are shit.

I think most newbies are lazy and should reconsider getting certified since
they don't know how to use web browsers let alone whatever product they are
trying to get certified on. I also think there are too many people posting
in search of the easy way to certification by getting other peoples advice
or experiences instead of earning them through study and hard work.

In your case you are nothing but a whinny little troll who probably was
given bad advice along the way or was not spoon-fed the way you wanted to be
by the people on this group and are now lashing out. I pity you and your
behaviour and I am glad you are on the other side of an ocean from me so I
don't have to fix any problems you cause at work due to your inexperience
and childish behaviour.

Is there a point to this post? If people ask specific questions they get specific answers. A broad questions as to how can I better prepare myself for a test gets a broad answer.

I think people come on here to really ask for support because we all need someone to help us keep going when we can't see the finish line.

The only point to the whole thread has been to troll, and unfortunately I
fell for it.

I have to agree that if specific questions are asked then specific and
directed answers are given. However, some may not like the answers such as
check the web site of Comptia for exam objectives it is a valid answer.
