There are quite a few decent sites to use for review. I'll let others
comment on their particular favorite.
To answer the question you pose in the subject line, the answer is - Not
anytime too soon. Comptia hasn't posted anything on their website about
upgrading Network+, yet....
Here's my personal prediction for Network+......
The last revision to Network+ was in early 2002. That means that the
current exam is almost 2 years old. So it's probably getting due for an
update.
The person at Comptia that is responsible for A+ is also responsible for
Network+ and they are busy right now getting the A+ update over and done
with. They can't be expected to handle two simultaneous test updates.
What I believe will happen is that sometime in the late first quarter of
2004 Comptia will announce new objectives for Network+ which will be
scheduled to take effect approximately 6 months after that - meaning
early to late fall of 2004 will probably be the earliest you'll see any
new exam take effect.
One reason for the 6 month wait from announcement of new objectives to
retirement of old objectives is to allow the book publishers time to
prepare new manuscripts and get books into distribution. It also allows
time to start placing ungraded beta questions into the exam pool (like
what they're doing right now with A+). This lets Comptia test and
statistically validate new questions.
Anyways, these are just my observations. Only time will tell for sure.
