Author setting up a dhcp server

At present i have a five node network running varios O/S (XP,win98,2K)
using a linksys cable router with switch ports as my dhcp server, the router
is a client dhcp to my "ISP". Everything works fine, but for my learning
skills to progress I'm going to install Win2K server on one of the nodes and
create a domain based network. Now, my idea is to have 2k server as my dhcp
server, i intend to have static private IP addresses for both the
router(which will now have dhcp disabled) and the server and dhcp assigned
IP addresses for the other three nodes.

My question
If i configure the servers tcp/ip properties to include isp DNS ip addresses
and have the default gateway set as the routers ip address will the server
be able to access the internet and will the other 3 dhcp assigned nodes also
be able to access the internet.
(what is there default gateway the router or the server, i think the server
will assign them the default gateway of the router)

(The router and server will include static private ip address of the same
network address)

I can't answer your questions directly, but FWIW I am messing around with
W2K server in a classroom lab and found Mastering Win2k Server by Mark
Minasi to be outstanding...check it out.... ISBN 0782140432 I have a bunch
of tech books and this is the best.
