| Hello everyone..
Could someone tell me where I can get the Network+ all-in-one book by Mike Meyers from a place where they don't want a heck of a lot for it? I went to Borders & Books, or whatever it's called the other day and they wanted $59.99 for the book. I thought what the heck I'm not paying that much for it! I am in a computer book club, but they haven't offered this book yet and I can't wait. So if anyone knows where I can get it cheaper than $60 please let me know :-)

I found Network+ and A+ both the cheapest at www.booksamillion.com
Network+ shows $40 if you have your savers card. (costs $5 a year)

Ordering online form Amazon, or even Barnes & Noble Online are good
places to start too. saves 10-25% on some tittles.

| Well i live in the UK, and belibe me - books are a hell of a lot more expensive - but i managed to get my copy from the US on Amazon.com. It cost me $41.99 + $8 to ship to UK.
Dont think you will beat that price.
Give them a go.

| Amazon and www.half.com (owned now by E-Bay) both sell used books, you
may find one for a LOT less than the cost of a new book (less than half
the cost). Lots of people buy the book, study it, take the exam, pass
and then sell the book, which may be in new condition. You can also
find them on E-Bay, but for a book, a fixed price "buy it right now"
forum may be better than screwing around with an auction for a week.
Just watch the shipping cost, however.

I always go to www.bestbookbuys.com when I'm looking for books first. They
compare prices at several different retailers offering new and used
selections. Best deal I have received was a A+ book that was $49.95 at
Borders for $6.30 including shipping. One of my instructors gave me the
address when I was complaining about the cost of the books in the college
bookstore.
The lowest price for Network+ by Mike Meyers is $37.79 including shipping.
At least give it a try.

| Yes Mike's Network+ all-in-one. I already have the Network+ passport book.
Now I have heard others say that the Network+ all-in-one isn't a good source
for learning Networking, so I should get a good troubleshooting book
instead, is this true? because I have no experience with Networking, only
the basics.

Hey Kathy:
If you are still looking, I bought Meyer's Second Edition All In One
Network Certification back in the fall before I took the Network Plus
exam. I ended up feeling comfortable enough with the material after
reading Network Plus for Dummies that I didn't feel I needed to read
the Meyers book. So, its in mint condition with the CD still never
removed from the seal. I can't really comment on the value of the
book since I've never even thumbed thru it. It seems to get a lot of
praise here in the group. If you are still interested, leave me a
reply and your email addy or I can give you mine to contact me about
it. If you leave the email addy, put NOSPAM or something in it so
that the crawlers don't get it to zap you with spam!

Honestly I could not tell you cuz I have no experience at all. I just
ordered the passport via Walden books and wondered if it was the same
as the 'All in One'; apparently it is not.

I have no experience at all in networking either, but I have both the A+
all-in-one and the A+ passport and I am assuming that all the Passport
series is would be a broken down version of the all-in-one, so basically you
would not be getting all of the information that you would need out of the
Passport series. And I am one that needs all of the information.....maybe
I'll get the networking troubleshooting book too. I guess it wouldn't hurt
me none to add to my big collection of computer books *LOL*.
