Hi All:
I've been noticing that there seems to be a lot more traffic in the A
Plus news group than there is here in the Network Plus or the Internet
Plus. Seems like more people are studying and taking the A Plus test
than the other two. I was just wondering if Network Plus and Internet
Plus certifications just aren't as common or useful or just exactly
what the deal is.
Any comments?
Thanks
Drew

A+ just seems to be a good starting point, it provides the foundation for
the other certs.

Right, but it is more complicated than that...
Some get their cert and leave, and some stay around to try to help.
Some are not certified, but have something to say. Some have nothing
to really say, but are interested, so they lurk, and some of them
finally come out, and often rip a hole...
Keep up the good work!
Tom
PS-Some usualy just spell correctly...

| I think there will always be more people taking the A+ test over the
Network+ test. The A+ is ground floor material for general computer support
where Network+ is ground floor material for network support. I went after
the Network+ test first for a couple of different reasons that worked for
me. I am heavily involved in networking, not pc repair. It made sense for me
to get that cert first. I do not even know if I will go after the A+
certification. Do not get me wrong, it is a great cert to start out with for
anyone joining the game. A+ certification shows that you have a certain
degree of knowledge for computers and how to support them. But for me,
Network+ is more important.
PC repair/support vs Networking.
Which do you think is more important to know? Both yes, but the networking
part has paid my bills.
Just one idiot's opinion.

| Most peps start out with the A+ and find that it is not for them so they
don't go to the N+ and others just don't like or are afraid of networking
Just a thought

| I just got interest in getting both my A+ and Net+ certs. I've been
a support tech for 5 years, and feel that I can pass the A+ easier
than thet Net+, so I'm focusing on A+ first.
I want the A+ first because I see more ads in the classifieds section
of newspaper looking for A+ certified people. I want Net+ just to say
I have it.
