Keep losing 1Mb of storage space with IE6 Internet browsing ...

| Hello everyone,
I'm running Winnt4.0 Server SP6 with Exchange 5.5 SP4, RAID5, dual cpu 800
Mhz, 512 Mb ECC Memory. Primary Hdd fat 2.0 Gb, and Part. secondary 35 Gb
NTFS.
I thought this newsgroup would be the best place to ask this question. I
feel this is a mixture of hardware, and software related issue. I could be
wrong.
Issue:
My FAT C:\ primary Hdd with 1.99 total max for storage. Has 152mb left of
free space. Its having an issues with losing store space. I have monitored
that each time I use IE6.0 to browse the Internet. It take at least 1Mb of
storage space off my primary c:\ drive after I close out the Browser. So the
more I browse the Internet. It keep taking more free storage space out off
my c:\ drive. Now I'm down to 98Mb of space and counting. So, I stop using
the Internet on that Server for browsing FAQ. But, I need to retrieve this
missing space back for future critical update/patches that need to reside on
c:\ %system% winnt\
Here is what I have done so far:
-Scan for Viruses (None)
-I have disable all event audit logs / clear out old logs
-Did online defrag. for the Exchange Server 5.5
-Used 3rd. party defrag. C:\
-Uninstalled/deleted unnecessary programs, old user logon profiles to free
up more space for c:\
-Clean up temp files *.tmp, History files, Cookies, ect..
-Repaired IE6 installation, and full uninstall, and reinstall of IE6. (Same,
didn't help)
What if I manually reconfigure the virtual memory setting? Currently it is
setup as:
C:\512 mb (512-576) Thinking manually config. as to:
C:\256mb
D:512 mb (512-576) And leave the d:\ drive ntfs alone.
But, if I do. An Error stated that it would be unstable for debugging
issues.
Is there a Swap files or a Cache file that could possibly be causing this?
Or could be a sign that my SCSI is going to take a dump.
Again, only if I'm browsing the Internet, that's when its taking 1mb out
from my fat c:\drive
In advance "Highly appreciate everyone advices."
Thank you,
Willie

Delete the Win386.swp file and reboot. Report your findings.
