Im going away for a week and intend to leave a PC running at home so I can
play about with remote access.
Straight dial up isn't the problem - I would like to use terminal services
to connect over the net - but my ISP
has started enforcing DHCP - before my cable modem would hold the IP for
months - now it can change every
day - so is there anything I can do - a util that mailed my hotmail account
would be very handy :-)

There must be a way ????
help

Batch files and scheduling is always an option. However, I would recommend
dyndns.org. With a small third party client on the PC, you actually get a
domain name and the client will update their DNS records. You can then
connect as joeblow.dyndns.org (or even ping it to get the current IP addy)
and their DNS servers will direct you to the current IP. It's quite slick,
and free.
