what is a insertion drop? Also-where can a person take the N+ and free
practice exam on the net?

I'll be learning my OSI modules soon any good advise. Networking seem
really cool. I usually fix small PCs. But Networking seems more
exciting.
I did a tiny bit of work house wiring-however it would be interesting
to see how cables run through conduits.

Thanks

I don't know insertion drop, insertion loss on the other hand is a
measurement of how much power is lost when sending through a passive
network, like a cable TV signal splitter. A drop on the other hand is a
term used to decribe the installation path from hub or switch to a PC, or
Telephone pole to a house, or cable pedistal to a house.

As far as OSI model goes try this to remember the network layers;

Read Verticaly

Do Data Link
Not Network
Throw Transport
Saugage Session

Away Aplication

I can't remember if these are in Mike Meyer's book or not.
