The Thompson Book is really Good-it comes with a practice CD, but
you'll need a back up-something slightly similar, maybe a network
dictionary.
On line http:www.webopedia.com and http://www.about.com off good
dictionaries.
Try http://www.computerhope.com too.
Good Luck

| The "Dummies" and "Idiots" books are not bad. Also, "Teach Yourself
Networking" (Sams) is okay. I have read most of them on PC Repair and
Networking and they were a good beginning. (Guess that means I am an "idiot
dummy." ;-)

| I searched Amazon on the same question. I had the Amazon site sort their
available Networking+ books by reviewers' ratings. The top result was:
Network+ Training Guide
by Drew Bird, Mike Harwood
about $35 new, ordered on-line
This book had a bunch of 5-star reviews. Apparently, the book to get. The
reviews were very positive, including a high school teacher who had used it
successfully as a textbook.
