Is there anyone using the Multilink protocol so you can added speed. So far
I know it helps on allowing you two modems to split the load while connected
to the internet.

I'd like to know how to configure and set up the Multilink feature. And,
also know if it is worth it to do it on a small network. I have to pcs,
both of them have a modem, but right now just one pcs with a modem is
connected to ISP.

If you do have Mulilink or you have some knowledge, please give some tips.

Hi Cesar,

http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1717.html is a good place to start.

Multilink is primarily an ISDN technology such as using multiple T1
(fractional) lines to widen the bandwidth. This technology has been
around for some time. Older implementations required a dual modem
setup on both ends of the transmission. Currently, if you are running
a dual modem setup, the other end would either require the same number
of modems and lines as you, or atleast be able to alternate the
destination of each packet depending on which line gets the next turn.

I believe there is a Linux distribution that looks at this sort of
thing. Not being a linux guru http://linux-mp.terz.de/ would answer
this better than I.

AFAICS, in order to use both modems, you are going to need 2 distinct
telephone lines.

hth,
Millimeter
