| I have 5 computers, all going to a Linksys Router. I have a DSL connection,
and I am wondering if I can split up the bandwith evenly between all 5
computers.

| the Router (aka DHCP enabled Switch) takes care of that for u already so why
would u wanna do it urself?

| First what I think andrian wants is an equal share for all computers, sorta
like caps. So no one can hog the line and disturb others.
If your looking for caps, it CANT be done on a linksys router. I did it once
on a linux machine longtime ago. star network with a switch in the middle, 4
computers and a router at the ends. But the catch is one of the computers is
configured as the gateway.
So, all communication goes through that computer. linux utility allows you
to set bandwidth quotas on the fly. when it was time to remove quotas, reset
the gateway settings at the 3 stations to go for the router, reboot and
presto!
