Author Certified Network + Today !!!!!

Passed the Network + certification today. Thought I blew it, but scored
860. Whew, glad that's over.

The way the questions were worded, seemed like they were trying to trick
you. Man, I just new I had blown it. I would have been satisfied with 650,
couldn't believe I scored 860. Tough test.

Used ElementK, Mike Meyers, and MeasureUp.com, and as many sample tests I
could find.

Way to go, MaddMikie. :-)

Can you tell me something about the test? I hear it is "form based", what
does that mean? If it means essay style questions, I am wondering how the
test is graded immediately; it seems to me that a human would have to read
and judge the answers.

Hey Tony

Don't sweat it dood - the Net+ test is still multiple choice answers. The
questions/scenarios are different from A+ and the answers are sometimes a
couple lines long, but in the end are simple multiple choice, and the
easiest way to do those if you don't know the answer is to reject the
answers you know are definitely wrong and choose from the remaining - that
raises the percentage of the guess from 18/25 % to usually 50%, and you
can't get all of those wrong ... lol.

I would however suggest knowing the subject matter prior to taking the test
as learning from dumps doesn't help out in the field.

Yeah, I'm a firm believer in the principal that when you cheat, in the long
run you only cheat yourself.

I'd like to follow in your path, or at least a similar one. So I am very
interested to know your opinion of the level of difficulty of 70-210 as
compared to the Network + exam assuming the same level of diligence in
studying the respective subject matter.

Good luck on the 70-215.

Hey Tony

I did find 70-210 much more difficult to study. I have been going over my
techniques and think that mostly I was right, but I also think that 2 1/2
weeks was a little tight. I think 3/4 weeks would have taken some of the
strain off perhaps. Still, by question 40 (out of 61) I was confident that
I had passed :-)

210 is most certainly tough, but I had studied hard for 2 weeks on it and
found the scenario questions were easy to figure out if you knew your stuff.
Sometimes I find data recall difficult, but am able to analyse things in an
orderly way. Doing my A+ and Net+ over the previous 5 weeks had me in
study mode so I guess that helped too.
