Hey all. Ok here's the deal. I'm working on access-lists right now and was
trying to see them first hand. I have a Cisco series 800 SOHO ethernet
router (also acts as a switch).

My main router for the house in the other room, the house is wired with
568/B cat 5e cable. I can use the series 800 router in another room but only
in connected with a crossover cable (obviously).

In this configuration i notice that none of the interface commands work. IE
if i shutdown the interface then the connection doesn't go down. Is there
anyway i can get this setup so that i can run access lists on the designated
port?
