ELECTRONICS CD BURNER AND HAVE AN INTERESTING PROBLEM.

PROBLEM BURNING CD RECORDABLES,DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY. THE SAME CD-RW'S
THAT WON'T BURN IN MINE WILL ERASE AND BURN IN THE OTHER COMPUTER WIN

THERE ARE NO HIDDEN VIRUSES. I AM STUMPED AND WONDER IF SOMEONE ELSE

| Pouce,
1) Please do not post in all CAP LETTERS. Convention on newsgroups
dictates that cap letters mean you are yelling at the rest of us. Stop
that.
2) The issue is off-topic for a Cisco discussion group. Cisco does not
make Windows 98, Nero 6.0, or anything else you mentioned here. Please
refer this issue to either the manufacturer or another relevant newsgroup
for resolution. This is the wrong group for you.

Since we are critiquing this post anyway...
"Might of had" is not in the English language... it should read: "Might have
had"...

| It damn well is in the english language.
It may not make a lot of sense but either does buying an LG product.
to be honest, what language would put "Have and Had" back to back in a
sentence.
thats like cisco negating a command with "no" as in "no shutdown" or
"no cdp run"
how about "enable cdp" or "disable cdp" as a global option.
crazy world eh?

| That's what outsourcing does. The people who come up with IOS commands can't
speak proper English. They have created such a mess with CLI that it needs a
major overhaul. I particularly despise class-map and map-class insanity. It
seems that they have different teams working on different technologies, and
each team comes up with their own set of commands instead of implementing
commands already used for similar concepts in other technologies. And when
you start comparing CLI in Catalyst switches to commands to CLI in routers
used for the same purpose (for example DiffServ), it's a complete and utter
disaster. It's time for Cisco to streamline their IOS CLI, in my not so
humble opinion.

Cisco IOS was around a lot longer than the latest outsourcing craze. A
lot of the commands don't make much sense, but I doubt it was all due to
non-English (primary) speaking programmers. It's been my experience
than Americans are the worst English speakers (from a grammar
standpoint).
I agree that 'recursive' commands are a bit out of control.

| The reason IOS is so out of whack is due to acquisition of varying platforms
of networking gears. Since one major objective of IOS is that it will run
on as many Cisco products as possible, they have *really* tried to make it
"one size fits all".
That's why, given the correct image, you can use BGP on a 1600 and a 12000.
It makes little sense to use a 1600, but it works. But then you also have
commands that do not do what it seems to do. That's why the IOS
documentation section is so large.

| I'm no linguist (hell, I wouldn't know a liberal arts class if I ran into
one), but I speak a couple of languages, and understand a couple more, and
all of them does so
