Hello all,

I was wanting to know what is the "essential" books that need to
be read, for people in or wanting to go into network engineering?? The
books do not have to be limited to Cisco...they may also include such
topics, but of course not limited to, wireless routing , VoIP, Linux/UNIX,
social skills ect ect ect......I think we should try, as a challenge, to
make a definitive list of books that are "essential" to a network engineer
in this decade...

Thanks to all that contribute,

-ET

I'll try to start a list:

Doyle - Routing TCP/IP Vol 1 / 2
Caslow / Pavlichenko - Certification: Bridges, Routers and Switches for
CCIE's
Carnegie - How to Win Friends and Influence People
Halabi - Internet Routing Architectures

Pros please contribute I'm still a novice-in-training

Caslow's book is more for certification use.

Cisco LAN Switching
Computer Networks by Tanenbaum
Internetworking w/ TCP/IP by Comer and/or TCP/IP Illustrated by Stevens
The Switch Book by Seifert
Troubleshooting TCP/IP by Miller.

There are others that I covered before.
