weird IOS command history prob....help!

| Hey folks, got a problem with my routers, when I use up arrow to recall
commands, it gives me a ^@ sign and executes last command
automatically...anyone know why that is? how do i turn it off? pretty damned
annoying....thanks for any help...........................................

| It's your terminal emulator.
You'll need to reconfigure / update it.
[control-P] should act just like the up arrow.
You can use that key sequence instead......

works great.

HyperTerm == Crapware *Anything* is better than Hyperterm. But
regardless, check the properties to ensure that you're using VT keys and
not Windows Keys.

Actually, first step is to go out to Hilgraeve's website and download
the current version of Hyperterminal. It seems that MS still puts the
8-9 year old buggy-as-crap version on all their current OS's. In all
likelihood that will fix all your problems.
I have always found it ironic that Hilgraeve gives away their product,
yet MS can't seem to put the working version on any of their OS's.
