And how about the single BCMSN exam (642-811)? I had a glimps in two
books: The Sybex book by Terry Jack does contain CatOS commands, while the
Cisco Press book by David Hucaby states that only IOS is covered? Which
one is the best book for the exam prep?

And a related, but not exam question: we have a few Cat 6500 switches with
MSFC cards. The layer 2 features (VLANS, ports, trunking, VTP, STP,
EtherChannel) were configured via the CatOS CLI, while the layer 3
features (HSRP, routing, etc) were configured via the IOS (MSFC). As I'm
looking at layer 2 config via the IOS, I expected the CatOS commands be
visible in IOS, but none are. So the question is can the whole switch be
config'd through the IOS? How about mixing Layer 2 config features between
the cards (say some VLANs via CatOS some via the IOS)? As the switches are
in production, I can't check this easily.

Many thanks for the info.

I passed 642-811 and for my surprise:

CatOS is covered(only a bit, 3 or 4 questions).
