Cisco 831 interface ethernet 0 speed.

| Hi,
I can't believe I'm asking this question, and I apologize in advance. I have
just gotten a Cisco 831 router with IOS 12.2(8)YN (Early Deployment Release
Software fc1). System image file name is: c831-k9o3y6-mz.122-8.YN.bin. It
also says it's "Synched to technology version 12.2(11.2u)T". Whatever that
means.
I've noticed that the speed on interface Ethernet 0 is 10BaseT. This
interface is actually a 4-port switch. I tried to change the speed settings
on int Ethernet 0, but the router doesn't take the "speed" command. It also
doesn't take the "duplex" command. I looked at the back of the router, and
it say that the switch is 10/100 BaseT(X). Then, I started thinking about it
and it appears that since this is a switch, every port should set its own
speed/duplex settings according to the settings on the connected device. If
this is the case, how to I check settings on a particular switch port. I was
also kind of concerned that the two Ethernet interface on this router are
called "Ethernet 0" and "Ethernet 1". No mention of "fast Ethernet". When I
issue "show ip int brief", I get this:
Interface IP-Address OK? Method
Status Protocol
Ethernet0 192.168.200.254 YES NVRAM
up up
Ethernet1 xxxxxxxxx YES DHCP
up up
Virtual-Access1 unassigned YES unset
up up
So, the interface itself is not called "fast Ethernet". However, I checked
the speed on my laptop connected to the switch on this router, and the speed
is 100BaseTx.
I looked all over the Cisco web site, but I can't find any information on
this. Does anyone know how to look at the individual switch ports? The Cisco
documentation seems to imply that it's a partially managed switch (the speed
and the duplex settings can be configured). Also, if you have a Cisco 831,
could you issue "show int e 0" and tell me what interface speed it shows?
Can you actually configure the speed and the duplex and if so, what commands
do you use. I kind of suspect that this issue could be due to my IOS
version, but I am not so sure. Could you also tell me what IOS version is
loaded on your Cisco 831?
Thank you very much!

Doesn't this data sheet on CCO answer your questions? Basically, you have a
10BaseT for WAN and 4port 10/100 for LAN. You can't set the speed on the LAN
ports as each port is not managed individually but rather as a group.

| Thanks,
I finally found it out that the newest IOS version available for 831
actually does allow you to set speed/duplex per port.
