without having the value of taken them both.....
I would have to say neither.

801 has newer stuff and drops some of the older 607 stuff according to
their website.

with both you better know your subnetting backwards and forwards and
sideways bit by bit.

Hi,

I am in the process of completing my studies for CCNA 640-801 using the CCNA
640-607 courseware.
The reason: Well the new exam is basically the old exam, so I am told.
CCNA 640-607 = ICND 640-811 + INTRO 641-821 = CCNA 640-801
I was also going to write the old exam CCNA 640-607 , the last registeration
for which ends on the 30/09.
However after comparing the content of both exams, I noticed that Cisco
basically took out the first two chapters and created an INTRO exam with
them. My suspicions were confirmed by Knowledgenet www.knowledgenet.com who
I study through, as well as AZLAN.

What is the sense in writing the old exam, when you can have the latest and
greatest using the same content.

(n.b. I did not take the 607)

I took the 801 2 weeks ago, and I found it to be quite easy. From what I
understand. You do need to know, like previously said, subnetting seven ways
to Sunday. Also, OSPF and EIGRP have been added to the new exam. Quite
honestly, toss out the 607 books you have and go to $FAV_BIG_BOOK_STORE and
spend the $60 for the 801 library. I did that, spent 2 weeks reading them
and passed the 801 with a 950. It is not that hard if you know ALL the
material. While the 607 contains the majority of what is on the 801, it does
not contain all, plus it has material that is not on the 801 at all, like
token ring.

Did not have any Token-ring in my CCNA 640-607 study guides.
But I am glad to know the CCNA 640-801 is easy, I am taking it in two weeks
time, using my CCNA 640-607 books.
As I stated, Knowledgenet, whom I study through, mentioned that the new exam
is the same as the old exam. Considering Cisco own part of Knowledgenet, I
would be inclined to believe them. There again I do have the origonal Cisco
courseware, which may differ somewhat to that bought through third parties.

you by anychance use the tests on www.how2pass.com , heard they are a lot
better than boson.
