Cisco routers for sale on eBay
|
|
| Choghok 2003-08-31, 1:52 pm |
| Hello,
Just in case you’re interested, I have put up a number of Cisco routers, which I used to pass my CCNP certification, for sale on eBay.
There are 4 routers altogether: 2501, 2502, 2514 and 2521. There is no reserve price. The URL to the sales is:
http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.d...&sort=3&rows=50
|
| Can you imagine if anytime anyone put something Cisco related up on ebay,
they posted that info here? Man, that sure would create a lot of
noise...and especially if they only posted on here to let people know about
their ebay auctions. Hopefully people will not continue to do this. (hint
hint hint)

| Brad,
I really don't appreciate your condescending comments.
I too would be irritated if, for example, a Cisco reseller kept posting about every single item that he had to sell, but:
a. I am a user of this newsgroup in that from time to time I search this newsgroup for answers to my problems;
b. Some of the people who read the newsgroup are interested in getting certified and therefore may be looking for things to buy for their lab – I get to advertise the stuff I am trying to sell and they get to find the things they want to buy;
c. I am basically trying to recover some of the money I invested in building a lab at home to pass the Cisco exams and if you don’t like what I am doing here, that’s just too bad!
d. I said it plain and simple above, so No hint, No hint!!
|
| Choghok,
You have posted two posts on alt.cert, both of them notifying people of your
ebay auctions. If someone wants to go to ebay to find some gear, they dont
need to see your post on alt.cert. Im sure 99% of the folks here already
know about ebay.
If you want to recover some the money you invested in your gear, selling it
on ebay is definitely a good way to go. But posting a link to your ebay
auction on here each time you have something to sell on ebay is just adding
extra noise to this newsgroup.
With the "hint hint" I was attemping to be nice and insert some humor into
my post. To discontinue any further noise on this group, if you feel the
need to discuss further, please give me a call, 702-968-5100.

I don't know that he sells any junk. His post was considerate enough
(to the original poster). And he's right about "what if everyone
posted his/her ebay auctions here.
One way to do it would be to answer a question and put the auction info
in the signature. You can kill two birds with one stone.

This way seems to be working too, look how many people have
responded... This gives popularitly to the post. Seriously, it isn't
that big of a deal. People post stuff on here all the time to sell
their study materials after they are done. Just in this case it turns
out to be Cisco hardware, who cares. I do not always go looking on
eBay, and that may be what I am looking for.

| I think that as long as the subject leaves no question what the post
is about it doesn't matter that he posted it. I opened the post
because it was about something I was interested in. There was no
question what the post was about.
If the subject was confusing that I would have a problem with the post
but it was not. The only thing else that I can think of would be to
require that people that are posting things for sale, or online
auctions might need to put a comment like "OT' or 'SALE' in front of
the post. I think we all know how to setup a filter to kill any posts
we don't like.
Just my 2 cents.

| Brad:
I am currently in the market for a CCIE/CCNP LAB. Therefore the only posts
that are of use to me are those that deal with the selling of these CISCO
devices. For me (at this very moment) this ebay information is SWEET MUSIC
to my ears. It is impossible for every post to benefit everyone.
Thanks,
John.

Do you own this newsgroup, by any change? If you don't ... HINT, HINT,
WINK, WINK
The responses speak for themselves. Guess a popular revolution put down the
Brad government.
Thanks,
John.
