Hi all

First let me apologise for the same old question being posted but i want to
make absolutely sure that I am doing the right thing.

I am an MCSA/MCSE and really wanted to get involved with Cisco equipment as
my aim in life is get into Network security.

Anyhow, I first wanted to go to evening college (due to working), but that
maybe not possible again due to work commitments. I was thinking about
studying for the exam at home.

I see that the equipment that I will need is 2 Cisco 2501 routers and one
1912 switch. Also books by Todd Lammle & Odom (will check if these guys
have updated for the new exams).

Am I on the right track? Thanks for any input and sorry for such a newbie
question

Sounds right to me, it should be fine for the CCNA anyway - after that I
suppose it requires a bit more equipment, but it should definitely get you
started.

Good luck!

Thanks for that. I was doing a bit more research and these items are quite
old. Will these do for the new exam or if I can afford it getting newer
models?

Will it make a difference.

Also does anyone have an opinion on the audio universalexams CDs?

TIA
