| Thank you for reading this post:
I connected a catalyst 1924EN and a catalyst 2802. Configured 2 VLANs on
each switch. Port 1-12 belongs to VLAN1 and 13-24 belongs to VLAN2 on both
switches. Assigned 10.1.0.1 and 10.2.0.1 to VLAN1 and VLAN2 on the 2802. But
on the 1924EN switch, it seems I have not option to assign IPs to both
VLANs. However, I can assign a single IP to a management VLAN and switch the
management VLAN between VLAN1 and VLAN2.
My questions are:
1. What is the Management VLAN?
2. Two PCs are connected to separate switch and they can ping each other
from almost every port in VLAN1. Except if one pc connects to port 1 of
the1924EN, ping will fail. Is this port reserved for special purpose or I
just have a dead port?
3. Why can't the two PCs ping each other from VLAN2 at all?
Appreciate your feedback.

Hi, Please inform us about what version of CatOS you have on the two
switches.
And how have you linked the two switches together ? For example whitch port
is the one that is dedicated as the VLAN trunk ?
Add the config file to the posting.
This will increase the probability that you are going to get a answer.

| Management VLAN in a catalyst 1900 is the VLAN from which you can telnet to
the switch using the ip address even if you don't have a router.
