Hi everybody,

I"m using RouterSim to practice on. Is anyone else using RouterSim? My
concern is that I had setup a small "network" on RouterSim using 2 routers
sepertated by a serial cable. Now on one router only the clock rate is set,
I haven't set an ip address on the serial interfaces on the routers. Could
I still ping hosts in the networks that are connected to those routers? I
don't know if I should stop using RouterSim. Thanks

Sean

Forget the simulators, get your hands on the real thing
try www.acorn-internet.net

Sure, if you are just communicating out of the router across the ethernet
ports that are configured and up then you don't care about the condition of
the serial interfaces.

With RouterSim I can still "ping" a host on a network across the serial
cable even though that link has not be activated. I just want to know if
this is normal for RouterSim or is there something wrong with the software.

Email the company and ask. They may want to verify your product license for
support, though.
