| Anyone know a way to reset the password on a 3000 switch that boots up
to the menu without responding to Ctrl Break, Ctrl C, etc. I've
searched Cisco.com without any success. Its an old switch, I know,
but it was cheap.

| This document describes the password recovery procedure for the Catalyst
2600, 3000, 3100, and 3200 switches. To recover the password on Cisco 2600
Series Routers, see Password Recovery Procedure for the Cisco 2600 Series
Routers.

Conventions.
Prerequisites
There are no specific prerequisites for this document.
Step-by-Step Procedure
To recover your password, follow the steps below:
1.. Press the SysReq button on the switch (next to the Reset button).
Caution: When you clear nonvolatile RAM (NVRAM), the password is cleared
but all configuration parameters are also reset to their default values.
This means losing all options previously configured on the switch.
2.. Move the arrow key to clear NVRAM.
3.. Press Return.
The system reboots and no password is required.
