| Passed the CCNA on Friday. Scored 898, which seems poor in comparison to
some of you guys. In my defence though, I used 1 study guide book and had no
experience of configuring routers/switches or managing Cisco (or any other
for that matter) networks. But does this then put into perpective the value
of this exam??

| IMHO the CCNA exam is a good entry level exam... I agree, someone can
braindump it and pass but they would have to get a good portion of the
concepts involved with routing and switching. Our company works its techs
towards getting their CCNA because it seems to provide a better
understanding of networking than most of the other network courses (n+, the
old networking essentials).

| No IPX (but you probably know that)
Lots of subnetting
Simulator questions were harder than i thought (probably where I lost
points)
OSI stuff

| Well done mate! Was the exam more interactive i.e. lots of flash?
I am studying at the moment! Do you reckon I should discount IPX altogether?
Cheers mate.

| Think I had 3 sim questions, but they were more problem solving than
initiate RIP for example.
The only thing I'd say to remember about IPX, is the access list numbers,
just in case they throw something like that in.
No one can say for certain what will come up in your exam. It might be
exactly the same as the one I took, then again it could be completely
different!!
Good luck!!
