CCNA Exam on the 15th

| Hello All,
I'm taking the CCNA exam on the 15th of this month. Have any of you
recently taken the exam? I know it covers a broad range of topics, what are
some of the "problem" areas you have encountered?
Any help you can give me is appreciated!

| Practice, practice, practice. Get into the sims or get a router. Make sure
you know the OSI an IOS inside out. The Netacad helps too. All the subjects
are pretty muched blanketed in the CCNA. So there is no real, "just study
this and you will pass" type answer.

Hello,
I go back and take the test for a 3rd time this coming Friday. Got an
809 and a 821. The test is very broad and I think very tough. Lots of
VLAN and switching. ACL stuff. The OSI junk is basic and fairly easy.
Lots of Sub-netting, the sim's are very easy, just remember to do a
copy run start after you are done with the config's and make sure you
can ping the furthest router. I just don't know what I am missing.
Good luck,
eric

agreed, I took the test for the first time last week and got an 809... I'm
going for a second try this afternoon... I don't know if you've noticed but
at least 50% of the questions were by TestKing... I was amazed cuz I hadn't
done any of the testking exams, so when I went back home and shuffled
through my CDs I realised I should have studied those questions...
what's surprising or can freak you out a bit are the questions where they
dump a lot of output or diagrams in front of you... but in fact you only
need some of the info you're provided with...
anyway, will let you guys know how it goes this time around!
cheers

| There are some errors in the test king stuff, i.e. they allow use of the 1st
and last subnet, which cisco forbid in the ccna. I suspect that cisco error
check their submissions from test king.

| Actually there are just a couple of errors in the PDF I got... it's TestKing
for CCNA 2.0 or something like that... I did find a lot of errors on the
Sybex exams that come with the book though... the explanations are good
however, so you get the right answer regardless. If you do those exams plus
the testking ones you should be alright, that's all I used to prepare.

I took the exam the beginning of March and got a 95%. I did not notice
anything too difficult, or shocking. I found it pretty straightforward.
Just make sure you know your subnetting pretty well because it drilled me on
that in many different forms.

| It's true that this test has a somewhat wide range of topics, but as long as
you've studied what's required, it should be a fairly simple test. Above
and beyond everything else, though, you WILL need to know subnetting like
you know your name.
Good Luck!
