Author Catalyst question

Hi,
I'm currently studying for my CCNP and I've run into a question on a
scenario that I can't figure out. There's a Catalyst switch with a cable
that goes from one port into another one (let's say 1/12 and 1/13).
Which port would normally be blocking or forwarding as far as STP is
concerned? Or does both ports go into blocking state?

there can't be a cable running from one port to another on the same switch !
there should be one or more cross-over cables between 2 switches . the
lowest port number becomes the forwarding port and the highest one statys
in blocking till the other one is disconnected or you change the port
priority.
