I recently acquired a Cisco 4000 series router that I know absolutely
nothing about, i.e. passwords, configured interfaces, etc. All I know
is that it has two Ethernet interfaces, and a token ring interface.
The console port has an RJ-45 converter attached.

Can anyone recommend a procedure to boot up and configure this router?

I would like to insert it into my home network, using my cable modem
as the WAN connection. I have four computers in my network, running
Win98SE, WinNT4, Win2K and WinXP Pro, connected with a LinkSys 4 port
switch.

Thanks

If you type setup in global config mode you'll be prompted for limited
config info to get you started. To get into global config mode at the >
prompt type "enable" you'll then be at a # prompt, not type "config t" then
you can type "setup". Hope this helps.

sorry about that, my bad. Don't bother with global config you can run setup
in enable mode.
