| Passed CCNA test today. Got 850 points, passing score 849 - well, not too
bad for pure braindumps ;-) - no books or trainings. Two cents - if you
don't feel comfortable with simulator questions - skip them! I did it and
saved time for other questions. 90 minutes for 60 questions - you need them
for subnet calculations. In addition, many cert. centers have bad cheap
monitors and sims look very bad - almost unreadable. Yes, test is adaptive -
tries to catch you. A lot of vlan, OSI, routing protocols, subnetting,
router commands. No IPX . A few ISDN. A lot of FR. No ATM. Use cisco
flashcards- they are good!

| Gee, thanks for the insight, and to think that I *actually* studied to
educate myself both personally and professionaly to pass this test and
others.
What a fool I must be to have gone through this effort! As you progress
through your career, adding validity to everything you do, please keep us
informed. More insightful tips to follow, I am sure!

| Congrats on passing the CCNA. Although I am happy for you. I reccomend
getting experience to back the cert up. Employers are quick to realize that
the CCNA has become very similar to the microsoft tests in which those with
no experience at all can do Transcender tests and pass without ever touching
any of the equipment. I hope the Cisco Exams don't turn out that way..

| Agreed I work with someone who I know uses braindumps, I have seen him
go over stuff at work too. It shows through quick, he asks alot of
questions about stuff he should know already, or takes days to fix
stuff that I can fix in a few minutes. He's still employed for now
but I think I am in the majority of IT people who wish they could work
with more experienced people. I think the true test will be more
detailed technical interviews before you get a job. MAke them sit in
front of a router or PC and have them do a common task at work that
will weed out all the paper certs in a hurry.

| Did I ever say I don't have practical experience? I have more then 10 years
of networking. I meant I didn't take courses or read books. And didn't play
with router for training, I didn't work with routers for 3 or 4 years. But
yes, you _can_ pass it without touching of the equip. Braindumps, like
TestKing, covers almost 80% of all material. And this is not _my_ problem -
this is a Cisco problem, to fix their exams and make them harder. I can use
any learning materials I want to pass it - what is wrong here?

| If you got caught with brain dumps of an exam
in school, you would fail the exam or the course.
Why?
Because it's cheating.
So now, you're a cheater, too.
You'll find no support, or sympathy, for cheaters in this NG.

I have no respect for braindumpers, or the people who use them.
sorry.

| In your other post you say you have 10 years experiance. Thats fine.
But if you skiped the simulator question becouse they took to long, then
I don't want to see you touch my routers!
A few months ago I took the CCNA to develop traning material and found
the simulator question very good and quite easy. I had the most fun
with them and tried all the commands the thing supported.
Most importantly they test logic and how to find problems. Anyone can
read a few dumps and remeber that 802.1q has something to do with VLANs.

| I have over 6 yrs. of networking exp. w/ just small networks and running
cables. Very limited router exp. and I know I can braindump a test and
pass, like I did w/ MS Proxy Server but w/ Cisco I decided to go to the
class. Great experience to see a router, touch a router and configure a
router. By the way does anyone know someone out there selling and 2501
routers? Need two.

Very confusing... You have 10 years experience in "networking" but not
with routers for 3 or 4 years? Are you confusing working on a server
or on networked PC's with "networking?"
>But

And it stealing isn't stealing if the police don't catch you; murder
isn't murder, if no one saw it; lying isn't lying if no one can prove
it...it must depend on what the meaning of the word "is" is, right?
Basically you are suggesting that it's not your fault if the Cisco
police aren't out in full force to enforce policies against cheating,
and that makes your cheating something other than "cheating."
>I can use
>any learning materials I want to pass it - what is wrong here?
That depends on how you look at it. In using braindumps you broke the
NDA agreement, so you really can't use any ol' materials you want,
unless you make the argument that what you can get away with using is
9/10 of the rules.
>Mike,
>Senior System Administrator, CNE, MCSE+I, MCSA, SCSA - and CCNA now ;-).
I've know quite a few "Senior" people that aren't worth spit, many
with ten years experience too. Most of those people also depended
solely on braindumps to get through exams. Everyone else had to do
their work for them, or clean up after their work.

He seems to imply that he didn't "feel comfortable with the sims," not
that they just took too long. That doesn't exactly surprise me given

You need more time for what ???. Yestarday I passed the CCNA with
963/1000 scores and had half an hour free. I think that I have failed 2
or 3 questions. So If you need 1,5 h to clalculate subnets , You are
funny, Heheh.

Thanks,

| I got 913/1000 2 weeks ago, the subnetting stuff was easy. As were the
router sims. I finnished 20 minutes early, most people said "watch the
clock", but I didn't think it was that hard. The Cisco Netacad was much
harder :-) Need a little practical knowledge for that.

| Who cares if the guy uses braindumps? Most people that I report to barely know how to turn on a computer and enter their password correctly. I personally know a CCNP,MCSE,A+, that Braindumped his way through and doesn't even use it. He is a CIO for a major company and he recommends BD's for the interns. After all, aren't certs about getting jobs? When I hire I look for Degrees and experience not certs. I firmly believe that someone who can pass a test today could not pass it two months later. I should know, I passed A+ (didn't miss a question) and two months later couldn't pass a practice test. Yet I work on this stuff daily and have been for 15 years now. So if someone asks me about the value of a cert I tell them it's to impress the HR and management people, not the real IT people. Real IT people want to SEE what you can do. | |

| I agree with your comment about degrees and experience.. But what about
those who ween't as fortunate to get degrees for some odd reason or another.
Yeah, I can have my degree and not care about Joe Smchmoe over there but
reality is most of the guys I work with don't have degrees and use certs to
show some sort of commitment, relevance to the job, and quality experience.
Dunno. If everyone was buying a mercedes, I sure as hell wouldn't get one.
Read carefully on what the posts start out as. They aren't posting saying
they have there certs through braindumps and know how to use routers...
