CCIE lab question please ?
|

| Hello NG,
If this question breaks the NDA then ignore me !!! A quickie....
It says on the CCIE web site that:
"Will I be able to move cables on the rack?
No. One of the changes in the new format for the lab is the elimination of
physical patching to save time for more high level tasks. As a result, the
candidate will no longer have physical access to the rack. However, the
candidate should report any suspected equipment problems to the proctor as
soon as possible for resolution.
""No physical access to the rack"" .
MY QUESTIONS
Does the terminal from where you are configuring connect into the console
port of some "core" router and then you telnet around to do your configuring
?
What if you screw something up like an access list and you lock yourself out
?
Do you have to configure some kind of "dial-in" access before you can
commence your configuring ?
What about some of the bugs you see where only a physical power cycle will
get the thing up and running again ?
What about rommon stuff on routers you are not directly connected to?
Thanks,
Steve

| forget the power cycle thing below since the proctor would help on this I'd
assume (after you'd spent about an hour confirmning there was nothing wrong
with your configuration !!).

You have access via central terminal server, so you can't lock yourself out.
Unless you type in "no exec" under the console.
