Subnetting practice tests
|
|
|
| Is there such a thing as subnetting practice tests? If there is, I
would like to know where to get them. I would like to practice on
subnetting to further stick it into my brain cells. Well... ones that
I have left anyway.
Thank You

| I believe you should still be able to find the IP Subnet Quizzer on Amazon
from Cabrillo Networks or somewhere. I think I remember that I bought it and
they emailed the zip file. It wasn't big enough to be a book or CD. There
are tons of subnet calculators you can fool with. Also try a small book
Subnetting by Example by Emad Mahafzah, ISBN 0-9678363-0-1

| Thank you for the helpful sites but what I'm looking for is something
that will quiz me to make sure that I know it well and never forget it
for a long while.

Learn binary math and binary number concepts. You'll never forget
subnetting.

Dammit Jim, I'm a doctor not a mathematician!

at the end of todd lammle's subnetting chapter in the sybex ccna book
he explains how to subnet in your head... that is the method that i
use and it's incredibly effective... i'm faster than a calculator, but
i really beat myself up about subnetting when i was learning it... i
used learntosubnet.com as well
but that didn't do it for me... i believe i could teach it as well as
he by now...
my (lammle's) method works in every last case, and it's so easy... but
it's hard to get there...

I've never read his book so I don't know what you're referring to
specifically. My point is that if you understand binary math/numbers,
you'll be able to figure out any subnetmask or an ACL wildcard mask.
