Author basic set up on a cat 4000

I'm missing something basic about my cat 4000

I connected 4/5 to the fa0 of a 1700 router. I gave the fa0 interface
on the router an address of 10.1.1.1/255.255.0.0

Then I gave the sc0 interface on the 4000 an IP address of
10.1.1.2255.255.0.0

I can ping 10.1.1.1 from the switch

I can't ping 10.1.1.2 from the router

Why is this ?
Also I get periodic messages on the switch:
2003 Feb 22 12:24:36 %SYS-4-P2_WARN: 1/Tag 20 on packet from
00:04:9a:34:20:0a port 4/2, but port's native vlan is 1

What is the switch trying to tell me ? There's nothing plugged into
4/2.

Don't know. Do a "sho int fa0/0" on the router and double check the IP
and mask. Then do a "sho cdp neigh" to double check the port
assignments. On the switch do a "sho int" to make sure the SC0 is in
the correct VLAN and that IP, mask and GW are correct. You'll need to
make sure there's one active port on the VLAN for it to be active.

It's saying that it saw a dot1q tagged frame. By default Cisco switch
will not tag the native VLAN.

To see each other your sc0 and 4/5 ports should be in the same VLAN. Default
VLAN for sc0 - VLAN1, so configure port 4/5 to be in VLAN1.
