| Does anyone know of a good book, other than the Cisco press books to study
for the CCNA. I currently have cisco press books but a want a different
perspective on the subject one that is not so dry and direct, I would like
something with a deeper explanation and some examples and comparitives.
Thanx

| Unfortunately the subject IS dry and direct and the Cisco Press cover
everything you should know.

I prefered the Todd Lammle Sybex book but I used it and the Cisco
"dictionary". I agree the Cisco book was pretty dry but it is necessary.

I used the Cybex (Sybex?) book. It worked fine for me.
Sounds weird, but you can also use the "Dummy" series books, they are
surprisingly well written. I don't own one, but for the CCNP, the local
library only has "CCNP for Dummies", so it was (pun intended) a no-brainer.
<G> The CCNP book was reasonably good, I would guess that the CCNA book is
good as well, but can't say for sure without using it myself.
I have always found the Cisco Press books yawn-inducing. I use them only if
no one else offers a book on the topic. They are WAY too dry. But at least
they are thorough.
